There will be many aching legs in the equestrian world this month with the arrival of No-Stirrup November. Countless riders will be sacrificing their stirrups for the promise of a stronger, more stable leg, and the security that comes along with it. Will you be joining in the challenge?

If you plan to give up your stirrups, do so carefully. If you haven't worked without stirrups extensively, then start by giving up your stirrups for just a few minutes at a time so that you can build up your strength. And don't be so proud about the challenge so that you sacrifice safety - if you have a jumping lesson over 4-foot fences, replace your stirrups beforehand if you can't ride securely without them.

Giving up your stirrups, even for just a few minutes during each ride, can do wonders for your leg and overall riding position and security. Will you be joining in the challenge? We will!
